Veteran sports writer Paula Pasche was on the sidelines at the Pontiac Silverdome in December 1997 when Barry Sanders reached the 2,000-yard mark for the season and she was just getting started on Lions’ coverage. She has covered the Lions as a beat writer almost daily since Matthew Stafford’s rookie season in 2009. In-between daily stories and analysis she has written two books on the Lions — “100 Things Lions Fans Should Know & Do Before They Die” and “Game of My Life Detroit Lions.” She not only knows the team, she wrote the book(s) on them.
