Detroit Lions: T.J. Lang back in action today vs. Dolphins; Ansah, Riddick out

Lions right guard T.J. Lang returns to action today against the Dolphins at Miami.

Lang suffered a concussion in the Sept. 30 game and missed the Oct. 7 win over the Packers. The offensive line is better with him than without him. He had been listed as questionable on Friday’s injury report but he said he felt good all week.

Tight end Michael Roberts (knee), who has missed three games, will play today.

The Lions had ruled out defensive end Ziggy Ansah (shoulder) on Saturday. Ansah participated all week in practice on a limited basis. He has 19 snaps so far this season, all in the opening game.

Running back Theo Riddick (knee) was ruled out on Friday after he did not practice all week. Look for Kerryon Johnson, who can catch out of the backfield, to get more snaps with the Riddick absence.

Running back Ameer Abdullah is active for the second straight game. Against the Packers he was limited to work as a returner.

Other Lions inactives: Defensive end Kerry Hyder, cornerback Lenzy Pipkins, wide receiver Brandon Powell, guard/center Joe Dahl and offensive lineman Andrew Donnal.

The Dolphins are 3-0 at home while the Lions are 0-2 on the road. Temperatures in the high 80s already in Miami. The Lions’ mindset is that they’re playing the Dolphins not the weather.
